Alpha Phi realizes that academics are a priority while you are enrolled at the University of Connecticut. Our goal is to enhance your learning experience by providing support in your academic career. It’s always easier to take a course with someone you know, to help you study for exams and take notes with. Since our sorority is comprised of over a hundred girls, it’s not uncommon to have a sister in every class. You can be assured that nothing we do in Alpha Phi will take away from your academic career. We have many sisters who balance both sorority life, and UConn’s rigorous Honors Program. Some sisters have found so much support that their GPA’s have improved dramatically after joining!
Alpha Phi’s expects the best from its sisters and holds an academic standard that is higher than that of the university. To be in good standing with Alpha Phi, you must have at least a 2.5 GPA. We are pleased to announce that our sorority average is 3.1. Sisters are rewarded for high grade point averages through incentives and prizes. Special programs and conferences are in place for those who need additional help with studies.
A network of graduated professionals awaits you when you begin your job search. Joining a sorority creates connections and opens new doors after graduation. Many of our sisters have attained jobs and internships through Alpha Phi connections and leadership experience.
The Alpha Phi Foundation also holds scholarships that it awards to its members, you can learn more about them at http://www.alphaphi.org/foundation/scholarship.html.
