House
We have an amazing 30 woman house located in Husky Village. Housing over 12 Fraternities and Sororities, Husky Village is prime real estate on campus, boasting 2 sand volleyball courts, full basketball court, bus service to campus as well as a full service dining hall. Our house is a 15 bedroom facility with a spacious living room, kitchen, and office space.
Big/Little
Each new member of Alpha Phi is given a Big Sister to guide her throughout her college career. “Bigs” are picked through mutual selection by the older and younger sister, and serve as a mentors through the 6 week New Member Period and beyond!
Mixers, Socials and Formal
With more than 30 Greek Letter Organizations at the University of Connecticut, Alpha Phi’s have an exceptional social life, hosting themed mixers with other groups and social bar nights at local venues. Formal and Semi Formal happen in the Spring and Fall semesters respectively. Alpha Phi’s are invited to a classy affair and are bussed away from Storrs with their dates for a fabulous night of dancing and celebrating off campus. What can be better than a night all dressed up with 100 of your closest girl friends? All events are planned weeks in advance and approved by Alpha Phi International, but also the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life on campus to ensure the safety of all members when leaving campus.
Sisterhood Events
The bond between sisters is something that can only be felt by those who know it. You may have a biological sister and know what it feels like, but imagine if you had an entire group of your sisters and your closest friends. That’s exactly what being in a sorority is all about! Our chapter has at least one sisterhood retreat every year and has numerous smaller sisterhood events each month. Some of our events are trips to the beach, dinner parties and movie nights.
Homecoming and Greek Week
Alpha Phi is extremely involved in campus activities, participating in both Homecoming and Greek Week each year. Paired up with fraternities, we not only make new friends each semester but work together to show our UConn pride!
