"Sisterhood is the essence of all the wisdom of the ages, distilled into a single word. You cannot see sisterhood,
neither can you hear it nor taste it. But you can feel it a hundred times a day. It is a pat on the back, a smile
of encouragement. It's someone to share with, to celebrate your achievements."

| Of course sisterhood isn’t limited to events, a sister will be around if you want to stay in and watch a movie, or head out for the weekend. The Alpha Phi House in the Husky Village is one of the main gathering places for sisters. You don’t need to live in the house to take advantage of it either. Sisters stop by all day and night to get away from campus, relax, and spend quality time with each other. One of the closest sisterhood bonds is between big and little sisters. When you are initiated into Alpha Phi, you will be given a big sister to help mentor you throughout your years at UConn. Our chapter also has Phi Families since we were recently established here at UConn. New members will be incorporated into her big sisters Phi Family. Sisterhood doesn’t just end in college and you will always be an Alpha Phi. Alumni chapters are located all over the United States and Canada and The Alpha Phi Foundation continues to support its sisters through difficult times. Wherever your life may take you, you will be able to find a sister in Alpha Phi. | ![]() |
